Another day goes by in New Hampshire and Ballot Selfies are now legal again. I think this is such a non-issue and I have five things that are WAY more annoying when you try to vote.

I cannot see what the harm is in taking a Ballot Selfie if the anonymous nature of your vote is taken away through the regular process. At least this way you can show the people you choose, well, the people you have chosen!

Beforehand, voters could have faced a $1,000 fine for their voting booth photo sessions. The  American Civil Liberties Union got involved and the decision was reversed.

I made a list of what is ACTUALLY annoying when you have to go vote at the polls. Three of these annoying things that I just listed are based in ruining the privacy of voting (both real and slightly imagined).

5 THINGS THAT ARE WORSE THAN BALLOT SELFIES

1.  LOUD CLERKS YELLING MY POLITICAL AFFILIATION

Every time I vote, the clerk that registers me will also confirm my political affiliation LOUDLY. Now, everyone within earshot (7 square miles) knows who I'm voting for and at least half of the people there now hate me.

2. THE BOOTHS ARE TOO SMALL

For anyone over 250 lbs., you know the pain of which I speak. My rear end is always half out of the booth and getting the curtain all twisted in the process.

3. THE BALLOT TABULATOR IS NOT PRIVATE

The person that takes your ballot and feeds it into the tabulator, does so with the ballot side up. He or she can see everyone you voted for.

4. YOU HAVE TO BEG FOR A STICKER

The commercials for voting always show a smiling face handing you your "I VOTED" sticker as you beam with pride. Usually you have to ask for it and then you get a response that looks like it's from someone who has been standing on the cement floor of the grange hall for the past 10 hours.

5. THE SIGN GAUNTLET

I saved this for the last one because walking through the phalanx of political supporters on the way through is bad enough. Seeing them again is unbearable. I swear they can tell who I voted for through my guilty facial expression and it feels so shameful.
