7 Reasons Why New Hampshire is Ranked No. 1 in U.S. For Personal Well-being
A recent study from Lantern claims New Hampshire residents take care of their personal well-being more so than any other state in the U.S. Here are 7 things that make that possible.
1. North Beach - Hampton, NH
One of the best spots along the 13-mile seacoast of New Hampshire is North Beach in Hampton. It has everything you need to relax and improve your well-being especially the lack of tourists as compared to Main Beach.
2. Mt. Chocorua
Nothing more scenic than the Mount Washington Valley and my favorite, dog-friendly, hiking spot is Mt. Chocorua. Boasting a 360 degree view, the mountain's summit has the best views of any in the state.
3. Great East Lake
Located in Carroll County, (and technically York Country, ME as well) Great East Lake is a well-being summer destination of mine. Nothing warms the soul like clear, calm water.
4. Downtown Portsmouth
What used to be a quaint old town is now a sprawling metropolis! It still holds on to it's historical charm and excellent bars, restaurants, and boutiques though. Spending a day walking around Portsmouth during the fall is truly a remarkable experience.
5. Front Row Pizzeria
Eating comfort food = enhancing personal well-being. That's a no brainer. Any time I feel like I need to 'emotionally recharge' I just place an order at Front Row Pizza in Exeter.
6. Boston Sports Teams
Having successful sports teams just makes day to day life that much easier. Sure you'll experience a devastating loss from time to time, but every season one of the major professional teams in the area always seem to have a chance to win it all!
7. Wentworth By The Sea Country Club
Golf! Everyone has a hobby, or activity their passionate about. Mine is golf and there is no place I'd rather play than Wentworth By The Sea Country Club. It's private so I don't get to play it much but when I do it's as if I'm playing a round in my dreams.
