It's hard for me to fathom that it has been 15 years since that awful day. I was hosting the morning show as the tragic events unfolded, starting with the planes crashing into the World Trade Center towers. I was at a loss for words watching what was happening, and was glad when we decided to switch our programming to CNN.

The service honoring the fallen victims and heroes will take place outside city hall and the police headquarters on Sunday, the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

It will start at 8:46am on Sunday. That is the time the first airplane struck the tower.

Pilot Tom McGuinness from Portsmouth was a co-pilot on American Airlines Flight 11 when it flew into the first tower.

If you are of mind and plan to attend the ceremony, perhaps you could bring flowers to leave at the World Trade Center beam that was erected as a monument of that awful day so that we might never forget.
