It had been fairly warm on March 30th 1997, with temperatures in the upper 50's. And then, no joke.

Most of the Granite State received 10-20 inches of snow from the storm that began on the evening of March 31st and ended on April 1st 1997.

Actually, the bulk of the storm hit Massachusettes, with the Boston area receiving a total of 25.4 inches and 700,000 lost power in the Bay State. Prior to the storm, Boston had received 26 inches of snow that winter. The good news was it did melt away quickly.

In case you think we are out of the woods as far as significant snowfall is concerned, twice in the past dozen years, Concord has seen over 12 inches of snow in the month of April.
