Jimmy Kimmel Slays Lion Killer in Emotional Rant

The story of Cecil, a lion who was illegally shot and killed in a National Park in Zimbabwe by a 'man' from Minnesota is heartbreaking. Jimmy Kimmel's rant against the 'hunter' is both scathing and hilarious. I promise it will make you feel better by watching it.

The organization that was monitoring Cecil and ultimately in finding his killer is wildcru.org . Jimmy Kimmel suggests that a donation would place a positive spin on this horrible story and I agree. Here is a poignant statement from them on Cecil's death and the legal ramifications in the near future.

Cecil was one of our study lions. We had followed his movements in minute detail since 2008 – these are remarkable data. Of course, as people devoted to wildlife, and having known Cecil personally, we are deeply saddened by his death, and insofar as this happened illegally we consider it deeply reprehensible (and we are working closely with the National Parks authorities to support their meticulous work in prosecuting this case).
