Even I wasn't even alive in 1907, but most of my grandparents were born in that year.

This a view of Congress Street in Portsmouth looking from Market Square towards Islington Street. Some of the buildings are still standing. Many are not.

It's easy to see how Congress Street has changed over the past 100 plus years, although it would seem to really have changed in the past 25 years or so.

My first memories of Congress Street include my favorite destination, Daddy's Junky Music Store, which moved out of that downtown Portsmouth in the mid- 80's. I remember Stuart Shaines and A Moveable Feast on Congress Street for many years as well.

Now, not only have the merchants changed, the new Portwalk has changed the Portsmouth Skyline.
