It never fails. More often than not, when someone over 100 years old is asked the key to a long life, they cite drinking and smoking. His name is Richard Overton, and he's a veteran of World War II. He is still quite active, driving around Austin, Texas (where he lives) in his Ford pickup, still attends church every Sunday, still does yardwork, and oh yeah, starts most of his days with a shot of whiskey in his coffee, and sucks down a stogie or two daily.

He's even been known to have a nightcap of a little whiskey and soda before bed. "I may drink a little [whiskey] in the evening too with some soda water, but that's it," Overton said in a recent interview. "Whiskey's a good medicine. It keeps your muscles tender."

There you have it. Bring this to your doctor and ask what proof whiskey, and what brand cigar works best for you.
