Portsmouth police stated that a sobriety checkpoint will be set up somewhere in the city this weekend.

Police announced Monday there will be a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in the city this weekend. To reinforce the announcement, an electronic sign was placed on Maplewood Avenue, near Congress Street, announcing “DWI checkpoint this weekend.”

There will be another DUI checkpoint in August according to the Portsmouth Police Chief.

Again, use your head if you're out and about tossing back a few and don't get behind the wheel if you've been drinking.
