Here we go again. Roadsnacks.net back at it with another top 10. This time New Hampshire is the focus, specifically the most ghetto places in the Granite State. So, according to Roadsnacks.net, these are the top 10 most ghetto places in New Hampshire.

First off, let's define, 'ghetto.' Roadsnacks.net used the Urban Dictionary definition, which says:

(adj.) urban; of or relating to (inner) city life

(adj.) poor; of or relating to the poor life

Now let's see what criteria Roadsnacks.net used to come up with this list:

Since a ghetto is defined as a poor area, we used income levels, crime, and education levels as a guide to determine where the most broke citizens in the Granite State live.

Additionally, the staples of inner city life include cheap and discounted retail outlets.

This is the method they used according to the website:

We started by making a list of every place in New Hampshire with more than 5,000 people based on the 2010-2014 American Community Survey. That left us with over 12 places in New Hampshire.

We threw a lot of criteria at this one in order to get the best, most complete results possible. Using Google Place data and FBI crime data in addition to the census, this is the criteria we used:

  • Household income levels
  • % Of adults without a high school diploma
  • Number of convenience stores
  • Number of drug stores
  • Number of discount stores
  • Crime

Note: For the sake of getting reliable numbers, we counted places within a 10 mile radius of a city’s center.

All of these results are listed in a per capita basis. Meaning number of stores per person in a city. Additionally, high school graduation rates are determined by looking at the total number of people who live in a city, not the current graduation rate of an area’s high schools.

And finally here are the top 10 most ghetto places in New Hampshire according to Roadsnacks.net:

  1. Somersworth
  2. Laconia
  3. Claremont
  4. Rochester
  5. Lebanon
  6. Berlin
  7. Dover
  8. Portsmouth
  9. Keene

Take it as you will, the study was all done in good fun and is a great conversation starter!
