This photo of a local police officer using a cell phone while driving has many people asking one question about the new Hands Free law in New Hampshire: Are police officers exempt?

There's no way of knowing if the cruiser was actually moving when this picture was taken, but it's hard to argue against it looking like an officer using a cell phone while operating a vehicle.

The picture was posted to reddit and has many people scratching their head. Does the new Hands Free law apply to police officers? It would appear as it is written in rule book that it applies to everyone.

Obviously it will be nearly impossible to enforce among police officers unless someone attempts a citizen's arrest. And I think people understand that but it's difficult to take the new law seriously if the people enforcing it aren't respecting it.
