Over this next week, 'The Captain' Derek Jeter's retirement ceremonies will be sickening at best for dyed in the wool Sox fans like myself. Since I have as many crackpot theories as Jeter has crappy parting gifts from other Major League ballclubs, I'll use the technological power of split screen photography and try to prove one of the wackiest in my arsenal.

Jeter and NSYNC member Lance Bass are in fact the same person!

You may say, wait a minute, NSYNC was formed in '95 and Jeter's rookie season was 1996. Well, isn't that just a little too convenient?

My theory is that after the Yanks lost the '01 World Series,(ending the Yankees latest dynasty), Jeter realized that the Bronx Bombers would need his full focus of time and energy and wouldn't you know it, conveniently, NSYNC broke up in the Spring of '02.

Sure they were born 5 years apart at locations well over one thousand miles away, but who are you going to believe? Their families, millions of fans that witnessed them both playing and performing all over the world at the same time...or me?
