Auction At Logan Airport For Abandoned Cars

Interested in a 2009 BMW at a good price? I thought so.

Next week, Massport will auction off 95 cars that have been left un-attended at Logan's lots and parking garages, some of them for many years.

Some of the cars going on the auction block include the afore-mentioned BMW, a Mini Cooper, a 1991 Isuzu Trooper, some Ford Explorers as well as a few Mercedes.

According to an article in the Boston Herald:

All will be offered in as-is condition, including no keys. And some have been sitting at Logan since 2009, the last time Massport held such an auction. The Oct. 17 auction starts at 10 a.m. (Oct. 24 rain date). Potential buyers can only view the cars two hours before the auction starts. Sales are cash only, and cars must be removed from the depot by 4 p.m. the next Monday

Apparently close to 10 and 20 cars are left each year at Logan with no story. Perhaps they're from people who just left to start anew, never returned, or maybe some insurance fraud.
