Fresh off a new batch of snow, areas near Mount Washington are under an advisory for potential avalanches, and for those in the area to be aware of the danger.

According to the Mount Washington Avalanche Center, yesterday's snow, which dumped more than a foot in some communities, had not blown into the terrain. Wind slab avalanches were likely to occur with a high rating. If travelling in the area, the center also reminded travelers that avalanche terrain requires training and experience. People control their own risk by choosing where, when, and how they travel.
