It's official! Jesse Wall and Christina Arsenault won The 15th Annual North American Wife Carrying Contest at Sunday River in Newry, ME this past Saturday. Posting an impressively clean run of just under one minute and five seconds, see here for complete leaderboard.

Something about a British news correspondent using the local adjective 'wicked', properly in a sentence, is just extra funny although the entire news piece above is pure gold.

Jesse and Christina will now compete next summer at The World Championships in Finland. The prize of five times her weight in cash and twice her weight in beer would be a terrific start for any married couple, but ironically, they will retire from the sport after his marriage to another girl. Only one thing left to do you two, bring the world championship trophy home to New England!
