Did you know that Bobby 'Boris' Pickett was from Somerville, Massachusetts? He passed away back in 2007, but the inspiration for his Halloween classic hit, The Monster Mash came from all the horror movies he watched at the movie theatre that his Father managed right here in New England. (from Wiki)

This song has a truly classic groove that can has been updated many times and the latest version is as NSFW as it is funny.

And for those of you that are a little more into "partying like its 1899", here's the original with a great montage that includes Mel Brooks' "Young Frankenstein". On a personal note, I think the giant that destroys Las Vegas at 2:20 is one of the most terrifying sights I've ever witnessed.

Check out The Lost 45's on Saturday night starting at 7pm right here on The Shark to hear Barry Scott interview Mr. Pickett and, in true spooky Halloween fashion, its from beyond the grave.
