Bryan Singer’s Queen biopic, aptly titled Bohemian Rhapsody, is kicking off, and now that it has a Freddie Mercury, it’s been hard at work casting the other three bandmates. Today, the three actors who will lend their support to Rami Malek’s Mercury, have been found.

The film has cast Joe Mazzello (Jurassic Park, The Pacific) as bass guitarist John Deacon, Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse) as drummer Roger Taylor, and Gwilym Lee (Midsomer Murders) as lead guitar Brian May, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Hollywood has been trying to make a Queen biopic for some time, the most famous attempt being Sacha Baron Cohen’s attempt, which apparently didn’t jive with the band’s preferences for how their history should be presented onscreen. But Singer’s version is apparently Queen-approved, with updates on their website about the process posting every few weeks.

Here’s what they have to say about how the movie is doing:

Elsewhere in the Queen related ‘motion picture business’, things are really moving along behind the scenes. Although not yet privy to the all the finer details higher up the Hollywood chain, the Queen Team is now moving into position and meeting our new film colleagues and counterparts in what is proving to be a very exciting project. One thing, we can confirm is the detail on the band that the film company is going into is quite staggering, just ask Queen Archivist Greg Brooks…well, don’t actually, because he is too busy working on the movie.

So, we’ll be seeing a lot more than just concerts and archival footage in this movie. Bohemian Rhapsody will hit theaters December 25, 2018.
