What began as a routine traffic stop along a busy highway ended with dramatic life saving efforts by a Maine State Trooper to rescue a man in the midst of a Heroin overdose.

The video, taken from the dash cam of the trooper's cruiser, is from April of 2015.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Trooper Douglas Cropper pulled the vehicle over for speeding on Rt. 295 in South Portland. After taking the driver's information, the trooper return to his cruiser to write up the ticket. When he returned to the driver, he was unresponsive with his head tilted back.

As you can see in the video, Trooper Cropper immediately jumped into life-saving mode and pulled the driver out of the vehicle. If not for his actions, and the help of a nurse who stopped on the scene, this man may not be alive.

My favorite part: After the man is given Narcan, you can hear the Trooper say "Welcome back, buddy."

I know it's almost a year old, but I wanted to make sure this state trooper got his dues.
