There was a water main break in Concord on Tuesday morning that sent around 20,000 to 25,000 gallons of water per minute flowing down Main Street.

The break happened around 7AM affecting many businesses. Water will be unavailable for much of today to those nearest the break.

WMUR is reporting that a contractor working on the Main Street reconstruction project was the cause of the break.

The water was shut off after 2 hours and an estimated 2.5 million gallons of water flooded Main Street.
