The Sarasota Tribune reports that The Allman Brothers legend was walking his dog in the backyard of his home in Sarasota Florida on Monday when he fell and sustained a terrible injury.

Due to the nature of his injury, brain surgery has been scheduled for tomorrow (9/21/18).

This has been an awful stretch for Dickey Betts, 75,  who also suffered a mild stroke back in August and postponed four shows that were recently rescheduled for early November.

One of which, at The Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom on November 9th, was just made public knowledge within the last week.

Sadly, this show has just been canceled.

As someone who has had the pleasure of speaking to Dickey Betts on multiple occasions, he is a genuine and friendly person and a true Southern gentlemen.

We here at The Shark and all of us in Shark nation are sending him the very best of wishes to him and his family.
