I was browsing Reddit at work, which basically makes up 90 percent of my day, and came across this shocking condiment revelation.

Much like how Chinese food didn't actually originate from China, this dressing we all love so much wasn't actually invented in Russia.

While browsing (aka wasting time) on Reddit today I found out that Russian dressing was actually invented in Nashua, NH. The famous salad dressing was invented by Nashua's James E. Colburn, estimated around the 1910's.

For all who don't know, Russian dressing is a blend of mayonnaise and ketchup with horseradish, pimentos, chives and spices added in. It also has a version known as "red Russian dressing" that is similar to French/Catalina dressing.

Russian dressing really does its magic in a reuben sandwich. Just look at this and tell me you don't want to shove it down your throat hole.
