Big news today in the world of camel racing. Even though the camels are no longer ridden, the robots they carry in the jockey harness can still whip the animals which seems unnecessary. This article brought to mind another camel race that was as unnecessary as it was exciting.

Do you remember 'Man vs. Beast' ? This program ran on Fox-TV in 2003 and I just couldn't change the channel. The spectacle of a disinterested camel jogging alongside 4 very competitive little people was a far better entertainment choice than anything else on that fateful night. And thankfully the camel was not carrying a whip robot, I would have refused to watch.
