She tweeted a photo of the sign, copied Target on the tweet, and it has since gone viral with over 2,300 retweets and favorites.

A Target spokesperson responded to the backlash via Daily Dot:

In our toy department, we offer a wide assortment of unique, differentiated, must-have merchandise, that children of all ages, stages and interests will love. We know families are tight on time and looking for inspiration. Therefore, we continually explore how to organize our stores and website in ways that will be convenient, appealing and helpful to our guests.

Many upset shoppers have come out in support of the mother's tweet and have criticized the store's choice of words.

As it stands right now, Target does not plan on removing the sign.

I would have walked right by the sign and treated it as any other sign intended on helping shoppers find what they want.
