Ever since it was announced that Larry Lucchino would be stepping down from his current role with the Red Sox, Dave Dombrowski's name has been tossed around, especially after he was let go from the Detroit Tigers a few weeks back.

Dombrowski has had his hand in some winning teams, including the World Champion  Florida Marlins of 1997, and two pennants in Detroit.

He worked with John Henry with the Marlins.

As for Ben Cherington, his legacy is a strange one that includes a World Championship, but also a couple of last place finishes.
