Don’t Believe the New Warning Going Around Facebook – It’s FAKE!

If you've seen this warning picture about 'hackers' and 'sexual videos' going around Facebook don't worry. It's not real. 

Here is what is making its way into people's feeds: (Again, this is NOT REAL. )

Snopes.com explains how this just isn't plausible:

False warnings about hackers invading Facebook accounts to post insulting messages to the walls of friends of the rightful owners of those accounts have been circulating in e-mail and on social networking sites since at least 2011….

The bottom line is that Facebook users have to actively do something (even if they aren’t aware they’re doing it) to open the door and allow hijackers to access their accounts; security-conscious users need not worry that “hackers” will suddenly seize control of their Facebook accounts no matter what precautions they may take.

Make sure you tell your grandma that no one is posting naughty pictures on her wall for everyone in the bridge club to see without her knowledge. This is false.

That being said, the possibility of someone else having access to your Facebook account is still very real. Make sure you keep an eye on devices you're logging into and which browsers save passwords.
