I bet by the time it's built, Portsmouth will need a third garage.

The Portsmouth City Council has voted to take steps to purchase property on Deer Street in order to build a second city parking garage.

It was just about a year ago that the City Council voted to build a 600 space garage. Nothing can happen until all essential documents are finalized.

There is speculation that once all the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed, it will take close to 23 months for the new garage to be built.

And I'm guessing that by the time it opens to the public, it will already be obsolete.

I still miss being able to park in the old Codfish-Parade mall parking lot for free. Of course, that spacious lot is now a distant memory.
