This is quite a list including a President, an astronaut, best selling authors, comedians, and oh yeah, a serial killer.

Of course most people go right to former President Franklin Pierce when talking about famous people who hail from New Hampshire. But there have been other high ranking government officials from NH, including Harlan Fiske Stone (a Supreme Court Justice), Henry Wilson (Vice-President to Ulysses S. Grant) and Daniel Webster.

One of the original  Mercury 7 Astronauts Alan Shepard is on the list, as are authors John Irving, Dan Brown and Horace Greeley.

The Granite State is well represented in the entertainment field with natives Seth Meyers, Sarah Silverman, Mandy Moore, and actor Sam Huntington.

We have to toss in the name H.H. Holmes. H.H. has the dubious title of 'serial killer' and estimates range that he might be responsible for between 20-200 murders. Probably not going to see a highway named after him anytime soon.
