Last Friday, I was all about cheeseburgers. Today, in celebration of Opening Day at Fenway, I bring you both retro nostalgia and contemporary information about 'The Fenway Frank'.

I can remember this ad between many innings of Red Sox games during my youth and I always assumed that the brand name for 'Fenway Frank' went hand in hand with Colonial. This is baloney!

The Fenway Frank was owned by Colonial until the mid-80's when the company had a takeover and then a very controversial move to Michigan. For the past seven years it has been produced by Kayem Foods Inc.

Kayem is located in Chelsea MA. and is New England's Number One seller of hot dogs and employs over 500 workers in Chelsea and Woburn.

I'd like to take this time to thank Hilary who cooked these beauties for all of us early risers at the Bob Fuller Media Center. We're celebrating Opening Day at Fenway here at the station and these are the real deal. Steamed hot dogs at 10am? Yes PLEASE! GO SOX!
