Fire Danger Is High, Fire Intelligence Is Low
There have been warnings throughout the week on how high the fire danger is, and yet I still see morons throwing lit cigarettes out of cars.
I must admit that I'm stumped as to why the five feet of snow that just melted in my yard isn't helping this dry stretch of weather. But alas.
We are below the norm as far as rainfall for the Spring, and that fact, along with some windy days is making for very dry conditions.
So knock it off all you 'let's light a fire pit and leave it unattended so that the ashes might blow away into the dry land while we light up a smoke and flick the ashes on the leaf pile we just raked' people.
It does not take much to start a fire and that is never a good thing. Sparks from trains can set things into motion.
Be smart, and channel your inner Smokey the Bear. Only YOU can prevent forest fires.
