First American Winner of Boston Marathon in 31 Years! Patriot’s Day Sports Recap

For the first time since 1983, an American has won the Boston Marathon.

Congratulations to Meb Keflezighi, a 38 year old from San Diego, California.

History was also made by the Women's Champion, Rita Jeptoo of Kenya. Not only did she break the course record at 2 hrs 18 minutes, this is her second consecutive year as champion.

At nearby Fenway Park, the Red Sox once again fought valiantly from an early deficit (6-0) but came up one run shy losing to the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 7-6.
