The NH Fisher Cats have their opener this evening at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium against Trenton. But if you've been paying attention, you know that these aren't the first games the Fisher Cats have played on their home turf this year.

They recently played a 3-game series against the Hartford Yard Goats (a name that sounds straight from the 1920's) in which the team from Hartford was the 'home' team.

The Yard Goats are waiting for their new stadium to be completed, and while they wait, they have to play their first 52 games on the road.

The Fisher Cats didn't really promote the series, which meant a lot of empty seats at the stadium, but some die-hard Yard Goats fans did make the journey from Connecticut.

It's too bad the management didn't spread the word. I'm sure their vendors would have like to make some extra cash. I doubt it would've affected the attendance for tonight's home opener.

For the record, the 'Cats went 1-2 on the home..er..road trip.
