I cannot believe that 22 years have passed since 'Weird' Al Yankovic's first 'pirate satellite' broadcast of 'AL TV' on April Fool's day of 1984. My Gonic School buddies and I were thrilled about his takeover and he did not disappoint.

It was four hours of the finest hilarity that was custom made for my 11 year old sense of humor. I guess I haven't matured much because this fake Ozzy interview (above from 1992 Al TV) is still a riot.

My favorite part of this show was when Al would play videos and provide commentary throughout.

When he vehemently denied that the Van Halen fan that pumps his fist in the Pamana video (at 2:48) was NOT HIM and that he could only afford seats in the last row, I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes.

There have been 10 official broadcasts of AL TV with the last two airing on VH1 (of all places), but I'll never forget all the foolishness of the first one. This day in 1984.

LOVE LIVE AL TV!
