So, I guess there's good money in working at the Library.

The monetary gift from Robert Morin, UNH Class of '61, came as quite a surprise to the University.

Mr. Morin worked in the Dimond Library as a cataloguer for nearly 50 years. He apparently lived without any extravagance, so few people knew he had accumulated a $4 million estate.

UNH President Mark Huddleston said that $2.5 million will go towards a career center for students and alumni. $1 million is allocated to a video scoreboard in the new football stadium, and $100,000 is designated, according to Mr. Morin's wishes, to the Dimond Library.

According to a press release, Mr. Morin;

"had a passion for watching movies and from 1979 to 1997 he watched more than 22,000 videos. Following this feat, he switched his attention to books. He read, in chronological order, every book published in the U.S. from 1930 to 1940 – excluding children’s books, textbooks and books about cooking and technology. At the time of his death he had reached 1938, the year of his birth."

I live a very simple life myself, but I can assure you, there ain't no $4 million stashed away. When I go, I plan on leaving a zero balance, so I hope UNH isn't looking to this alum for any monetary gift.
