I realize it's 34 degrees out with a low of 22 expected tonight but the picture above was taken just yesterday and features two late season delicacies from the garden. Recently harvested late flat dutch cabbage and the much maligned and misunderstood brussel sprouts.

I know this isn't the most appetizing picture, but with a little rummaging and some handy work with a knife, you can easily rustle up some brussels from this plant. Even if you hate brussel sprouts, I bet you may change your mind if you try them after the frost hits. They become less of a cruciferous veggie and more like a sweet dessert with cold temps. Enjoy!
