It was 11pm on August 29th when Portsmouth Police were notified that money had been stolen from a tip jar at Gilley's PM Lunch on Fleet Street.

Security footage showed that when the server's back was turned, the customer stole from the tip jar that was on the counter.

Portsmouth Police posted the security footage on their Facebook page, and that yielded a bunch of Seacoast Crime Stopper tips. These tips allowed the cops to focus on Christopher McPhee who was positvely identified and then interviewed.

That led to McPhee turning himself into Portsmouth PD Monday night.

According to the Portsmouth Police Dept, bail was set at $500.00 personal recognizance bail and an arraignment date has been scheduled in the 10th Circuit Portsmouth District Court on September 24, 2016 at 8:00am.

In a message to the public:

The Portsmouth Police Department would like to express its gratitude to those community members, businesses and civic organizations who assisted in this matter. Your contributions brought this investigation to a quick and successful resolution.

Now let's get the maggots that stole from Bret Michaels.
