The Perseid Meteor show is an annual event that has stargazers very excited, especially this year, as the meteor shower will align with a new moon allowing for dark skies.

If you don't have a whiz-bang telescope, that's no problem. You just need a clear night.

The meteor show is supposed to peak during the overnight hours of August 12th into the early morning hours of August 13th. You'll be able to start to see the show around 10 pm, with the best viewing time expected to be near 4 am.

So far the weather prognosticators in these parts think we'll have a good sky to view the show.
