Bad news regarding Subways loyalty rewards program. The company recently announced a change of policy that would no longer give customers a free Footlong, but instead give the customers the ability to earn $2 discounts.

Apparently Subway has seen falling sales and profits recently, in fact, in an article at whdh.com

Sales at Subway’s U.S. stores fell more than 4 percent in 2017 from the year before, according to food industry tracker Technomic, as it faced increasing competition from other sandwich chains and those selling burgers and fries. Loyalty programs are seen as a way to keep customers returning and spending more.

I enjoy visiting my local Subway at least twice a month, and indeed did sign up for their rewards program, so I'm a little bummed in this change of policy.

However, I doubt this will keep me or most of their customers from tasting their delicious subs in the future.
