This patient was recording the doctors post op directions after his colonoscopy, but he recorded a whole lot more.

As the Virginia man was listening back to his what he recorded, he was stunned. It turns out he was being mocked by those attending the procedure.

According to the Washington Post, here are some excerpts from the audio recorded by the patient:

“After five minutes of talking to you in pre-op,” the anesthesiologist told the sedated patient, “I wanted to punch you in the face and man you up a little bit,” she was recorded saying.

When a medical assistant noted the man had a rash, the anesthesiologist warned her not to touch it, saying she might get “some syphilis on your arm or something,” then added, “It’s probably tuberculosis in the penis, so you’ll be all right.”

The man sued the doctors for defamation and medical malpractice, and a jury ordered the anesthesiologist and her practice to pay up $500,000.

I just made an appointment for my first ever colonoscopy, and like most, I'm not really looking forward to it. But I now know to hit record on the smartphone before things get underway, and they can ridicule and mock me 88 ways to Sunday for a half million dollar pay day.
