Jamie Lee Curtis, maybe best known for her role in the horror movie classic, and one of my favorites, Halloween is coming to the 20th annual Middlesex Community College Celebrity Forum, in Lowell, next month.

The Lowell Sun claims, the annual event presents well-known personalities for the educational and cultural enrichment of area residents. Past celebrities include former Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, William Shatner, and Jay Leno.

The Sun says MCC President James Mabry, told them the event is the colleges "signature scholarship fundraising event." And according to the article, has funded over 120 scholarships totaling $304,500 since 2004.

This year's event with Jamie Lee Curtis is at 8 p.m. on June 8 at Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Tickets are on sale now and cost $29, $39, and $49.

Of course she's been in other well known movies like Freaky Friday, and one of my personal all-time favorites, Trading Places, with Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd.  And this October, she returns to her role as Laurie Strode in the upcoming Halloween.

Here's a little fact...Jamie Lee Curtis and I have a connection. Her mom is Janet Leigh...the co-star of the suspense film, Psycho. Starring Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates, Psycho is one of the scariest and most suspenseful movies ever.

Sadly Ms. Leigh passed away in 2004. I'm lucky enough to have spent an evening with her at a special 35 year anniversary screening of the Alfred Hitchcock classic, back in 1995. Ms. Leigh told me it took her years before she could shower again after shooting the film's iconic shower scene.

Tickets for "An Evening with Jamie Lee Curtis" can be purchased by calling the Lowell Memorial Auditorium Box Office at 866-722-8881.
