This may look like a frightening scene from a Blair Witch Project sequel, but it's nothing to be afraid of. It's freshly harvested garlic.

My Instagram post has already taken in NINE likes, so you know it's only a matter of time before these creepy cloves go viral.

These are the hardneck variety of garlic that grow better in colder climates. After about two weeks hanging on these strings, the garlic should be at optimum freshness.

The papery wrappings on the outside should be dry while the inside remains fresh and oily.

The video above should fill in any other questions you may have about growing and harvesting garlic.

If you like garlic and  you've never tried locally grown garlic before, you don;t know what you're missing! Much more intense and delicious flavor than anything at a grocery store.
