It Should Have Been Called ‘The Wizard Of Boston’

Did you know that 2 of the actors who played major characters in 'The Wizard Of Oz' were from Boston? And one other very recognizable Oz character is not only a Bostonian but STILL ALIVE?

It's true! Wikipedia states that Ray Bolger (The Scarecrow) was from Dorchester, MA originally, while Jack Haley (The Tin Man)  is listed as having Boston as his birthplace.

The leader of The Lollipop Guild is portrayed by a gentleman with the name of Jerry Maren (carrying lollipop).

He is (that's right I wrote IS) a Boston born performer with a heavy New England accent. He usually always seen smoking a cigar and constantly refuting rumors of his fictional demise. The cigars haven't done any damage to Mr. Maren as he turned an amazing 96 years of age this past January. Go get 'em Jerry!
