The New York Jets have filed tampering charges against the New England Patriots, but it might be another round in a contentious game of tug-of-war.

The charges come from comments made by Patriots owner Robert Kraft about Darrelle Revis, according to ESPN.

Kraft, speaking to reporters at the league meetings in Phoenix, commented for the first time on the star cornerback's departure. The remark that caught the Jets' attention was Kraft saying, "I speak as a fan of the New England Patriots, we wanted to keep him."

This may seem trivial, but it may be in response to tampering accusations the Patriots made against the Jets in January. Owner Woody Johnson told the media that he wanted to keep Revis and said "I'd love for Darrelle to come back."

If found guilty of tampering, a team can be fined and/or stripped of a draft pick.
