Jon Lester is NOT coming back, so what does this mean for the Red Sox?

Jon Lester finally made his decision late last night agreeing to a 6-year, $155 million contract with the Chicago Cubs.

What do the Red Sox do now? Go after Cole Hamels? James Shields? Snore. Whatever it is it's not likely to get me watching the games again. Full on band wagon fan here folks.

In all seriousness, I REALLY like Jon Lester. I was sad to see him go last year, and was salivating at the rumors that he was considering a return to Boston. The dude can pitch, and has proven himself in the postseason.

Reports are that of the three teams in the Lester Sweepstakes, the Red Sox had the lowest offer. Yuck. If you really want the guy, go out and get him. The Red Sox are a big spender now whether management likes it or not.

Jon Lester will be making over $25 million per season. Do you think that's too much for him? Would you have over paid in order to keep him?
