I've been able to keep a Spider plant alive for over 20 years. It's one of the longer relationships I've had.

But it's an indoor plant. The outdoor one's I have a little more trouble with. If you want to have a greener thumb and get some great ideas on how to spruce up your dwelling, both inside and outside, you should  check out this open house.

The greenhouses will be open each day from 9-4. The schedule of programs include:

Friday, April 1

■ 11 a.m. — Gardening for Pollinators;

■ 11:30 a.m. — Explore Aquaponics;

■ 1 p.m. — Eat Your Greens;

■ 2 p.m. — Managing Garden Insect Pests While Minimizing Chemical Spraying;

■ 2 p.m. — Explore Grafting Cucurbits.

Saturday, April 2
