Somehow, we always imagined Led Zeppelin smelling more like sweat and patchouli than cologne, but the band's music still makes a pretty good fit for Christian Dior's latest fragrance ad campaign.

'Twilight' actor Robert Pattinson stars in the clip, which finds him doing all kinds of cool stuff -- driving fast cars, making out with models, smoking in the bathtub -- while Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love' rocks in the background, making the whole thing seem that much cooler. Shot in moody black and white by director Romain Gavras, the commercial made its television debut overseas last fall, but it's recently started surfacing on the U.S. airwaves as well.

"Robert Pattinson is one of those rare actors who plays with elegance and a certain casualness, an obvious modernity," enthused Dior in a statement. "He starts with identifying anew artistic achievements, simultaneously as the Dior man enters a new era. The meeting was inevitable. Filmed by Romain Gavras, he embodies a certain idea of masculinity against the current flow of ideas, such as his legendary seniors, Marlon Brando, James Dean, Paul Newman and Monty Clift."

All of which is well and good if you like that sort of thing, but for our money, it's 'Whole Lotta Love' that makes the whole thing work. Not enough to spend $84 on a 3.4 ounce bottle, but still.
