Happy Lizzie Borden Day everyone! I call it that because on this day in Fall River, MA back in 1892, Lizzie Borden may or may not have gone a little 'whacky'. However, one shocking truth about her celeb relative cannot be denied.

The woman who portrayed Miss Lizzie in the 1975 TV movie 'The Legend of Lizzie Borden' was the very talented and timelessly beautiful Elizabeth Montgomery (1933-1995).

As it turns out, these two women shared more than just a first name. They were cousins!

Genealogical research has revealed that Elizabeth Montgomery and Lizzie Borden were sixth cousins once removed, both descending from 17th-century Massachusetts resident John Luther. As Rhonda McClure, the genealogist who documented the Montgomery-Borden connection, said, "I wonder how Elizabeth would have felt if she knew she was playing her own cousin.

Quite a few steps away from sisterhood but still pretty remarkable that this was recently discovered.

For those of you that prefer her much less evil role of Samantha from Bewitched, please enjoy her slinging pies instead of axes.
