Local Mystery Vines Look Evil and Creepy [PHOTOS]

This isn't a picture of The Amazon rain forest, it's in the woods of greater Rochester NH, right alongside Route 125. Should I be worried about a vine infestation right out of science fiction?

If these are just grape vines, I'll be perfectly happy to reap the rewards that a vineyard like this can offer. Some of the best wine I've had has been locally grown. But they really don't look like grapevines.

If anyone reading this has any clue what these are please let me know. Are they as invasive and destructive as they look? As of right now my plans include purchasing a machete and watching as many old Tarzan movies as I can so I can practice the proper swinging technique.
