A legislative panel in Maine will consider a bill to lower the state's minimum wage, according to WMTW. It was raised to $10 an hour in 2016.

The reason? Republicans and some business groups think $10 an hour will do harm to Maine's economy in the long-term, according to the Press Herald.

Republican Rep. Joel Stetkis's bill would cut Maine's minimum wage to $9.50 an hour, and it eliminates cost-of-living increases, as per WMTW. The report also says it would create a separate minimum wage for youth as well as a training minimum age for people between the ages of 18 and 20.

There is a hearing today (Wednesday) about the state's minimum wage.
