Maine Sled Dog Race Cancelled By Weather

(Greenville, Maine) - Officials have had to cancel the annual Wilderness Sled Dog Race because of unsafe conditions on the trails.

Race organizer Amy Dugan says the decision to cancel was heartbreaking.

The 12th annual 100-mile race in the Moosehead Lake region was slated to begin this Saturday, but the recent warm weather and rain created conditions that are deemed not safe for the mushers or their dogs.
