Man Killed By Atomic Wedgie

Chalk up another one for mom. She called this back in the 70's.

Years ago my mom said nothing good could would come of the wedgie.

Let's meet Brad Lee Davis who ended a beef with his step-father by giving him an 'atomic wedgie'. And by ended, I mean the step-father died. Basically the man suffocated in his own underwear.

A description of the crime was published at Gawker.com:

Brad Davis was arrested and jailed on Tuesday for killing his step-father, Denver Lee St. Clair. Apparently, the wedgie knocked St. Clair out, causing him to fall and strike his head. While unconscious, St. Clair asphyxiated inside his own briefs (or boxers—from initial reports it's not clear what he was wearing).

Brad pleaded guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter. Prosecutors are asking for a 35 year sentence, well above the normal sentence for that charge.

I've witnessed a wedgie back in the day where the kid pulled on the elastic band so hard it ripped, leaving the victims underwear in tatters.

But the 'atomic wedgie' is another matter all together.

Once again, mom was right.
