Now that retails marijuana shops have opened in Massachusetts, lawmakers want to make sure people aren't driving stoned.

According to WMUR-TV, a special commission is looking at 19 steps that will allow lawmakers to immediately allow for tougher testing of drivers suspected of driving and smoking weed.

The commission says that certain laws need to be expanded to include impairment due to drugs. WMUR claims under current laws, if a driver is suspected of driving while intoxicated on anything other than alcohol, they can refuse a test without consequence of having their license suspended.

The commission spent months exploring ways to make Massachusetts roads safe from those driving while impaired by marijuana. The report recommends training over 300 people as recognition experts to aid Massachusetts State Police in identifying those driving while high.
